In 2018, the foundation of HEXAGON wasn’t laid in a boardroom—it was laid under a leaking kitchen ceiling during a rare weekend home.

Tony Hernandez, an Army Veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division, was back in Houston from a high-stakes assignment at a Louisiana LNG plant. When he found water dripping from his ceiling, he didn’t call a corporate franchise; he called the only person he trusted with his home: his cousin, George York.

George was a career plumber who had mastered the trade in the trenches of the Houston market. As the two cousins worked side-by-side to stop the leak, they began to talk. They realized that while Houston—the 4th largest city in the U.S. and climbing—was growing fast, the standard of service was falling behind.

They saw a gap where Industrial-Grade Authority met Local Family Values. That conversation was the “first drop” of what would become Hexagon Plumbing, and later in 2023, Hexagon Air & Heat.

They chose the name HEXAGON for a specific reason. In nature and engineering, the hexagon is the strongest, most efficient shape. It represents structural integrity and balance. For George and Tony, it became a symbol of their “Six-Sided” approach to business: a perfect alignment of military precision, technical mastery, and unwavering integrity.
